Dag 2 The Castle of Prague and its surroundings and The Little Quarter
8:00 Breakfast at the hotel. 9:00 Going up to the Castle Hill by coach. The rest of the sigtseeing – walking. Visiting starts in The Starahov Monastery which was founded in 1140 by King Vladislav II. Those times it was bigger than the castle in Prague. Visiting The St. George Basilica, The Church of The House of Nazareth – Prague's Loreto. According to the legend, The Golden Lane was the place where alchemists lived and practised their magic. Nowdays there is a lot of souvenir shops on this street. Passing down The Castle Steps getting The Little Quarter. 13:30 Lunch at the restaurant in The Little Quarter. 15:00 Visiting The Little Quarter. with the church of The Virgin of The Victory with famous statue of The Infant Jesus of Prague. At the beggining it was protestant church.The Charles' Bridge is considered as one of the most important Bohemian medieval costruction. The Little Quarter is surrounded by The Castle on the north, The Petrin Hill on the south. In The Old Town's centre there is Church of St. Nicholas with the bell tower of 79 metres. 17:00 Optionally: classical music concert. This zone developed in the XII century. It is known of its ghetto situated in the centre of The Old Town. The New Town was founded by Charles IV of Luxembourg in the XIX century.
